Ang Liwanag (The Light)

Ito ay dalawang bagay na nag bigay liwanag sa amin tuwing sasapit ang gabi.

Zip-line, Misamis Occidental,Philippines

Last night I saw my brother upload the photos on his Facebook account. I was excited to see the photos of him and my nieces and nephew. They went to the first Zip-line in Misamis Occidental, located in Hoyohoy, Tangub City.

But what is a Zip-line?
zip-line (also known as a flying foxfoefie slidezip wireaerial runwayaerial ropeslidedeath slide or tyrolean crossing)[citation needed] consists of a pulley suspended on a cable mounted on an incline. It is designed to enable a user propelled by gravity to travel from the top to the bottom of the inclined cable, usually made of stainless steel, by holding on or attaching to the freely moving pulley. Zip-lines come in many forms, most often used as a means of entertainment. They may be short and low, intended for child's play and found on some playgrounds. Longer and higher rides are often used as a means of accessing remote areas, such as a rainforest canopy. Zip-line tours are becoming popular vacation activities, found at outdoor adventure camps or upscale resorts, where they may be an element on a larger challenge or ropes course.[1]

St. Gabriel The Archangel

The day before the great feast of the Annunciation, the Church celebrates the feast of the Archangel who brought to earth the glad tidings that Mary was chosen to be the Mother of the Incarnate God.
This angelic Messenger appears several times in the history of God’s chosen people. He came to Daniel the prophet after he had a vision of the future Persian and Greek empires, to explain the vision to him, as Daniel narrates in the eighth chapter of his book. So great was the Archangel’s majesty that the prophet fell on his face trembling.
The Angel of the Incarnation again appeared to the prophet to answer his prayer at the end of the exile, and advise him of the exact date of the future Redemption by the long-awaited Messiah.
When the fullness of time had come, Gabriel was sent several times as the harbinger of the Incarnation of the Most High God. First, to the Temple of Jerusalem, while Zachary stood at the altar of incense, to tell him that his wife Elizabeth would bring forth a son to be called John, who would prepare the way of the Lord. (Luke 1:17) Six months later the great Archangel again appeared, bearing the greatest message God ever sent to earth. Standing before the Blessed Virgin Mary, this great Archangel of God trembled with reverence as he offered Her the ineffable honor of becoming Mother of the Eternal Word. Upon Her consent, “the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” It was he, we can readily believe, who also fortified Saint Joseph for his mission as virginal father of the Saviour.
Gabriel rightly bears the beautiful name, the strength of God, manifesting in every apparition the power and glory of the Eternal. According to some of the Fathers of the Church, it was Saint Gabriel, Angel of the Incarnation, who invited the shepherds of Bethlehem to come to the Crib to adore the newborn God. He was with Jesus in His Agony, no less ready to be the strength of God in the Garden than at Nazareth and Bethlehem. Throughout Christian tradition he is the Angel of the Incarnation, the Angel of consolation, the Angel of mercy.

My box from Aerosend

For  10 months of waiting and waiting at last the package that I sent to the Philippines last October 2010 arrived at our doorstep (Philippines). It takes a lot of calls and heartache and pissing off just for this box arrived to its destination. I paid $65 to send  the box but then something going on happened last 2010. The shipping company Aerosend was not able to pay for its dues in the Philippines (see more of this here AEROSEND) and so the delayed begins. Until last month when I found out that a certain name and company is trying to distribute it in the Philippines but they need an additional payment of $25 cash on delivery. Since people are waiting for the boxes that is long over due, I was willing to pay for it and most of my friends are willing to pay for it too. Two days ago m box arrived and as what my brother told me you can shake it. I told my brother that basing of the photos that I saw many things are taken from the box. But I could not remember since it is almost a year the box was not delivered. Even the t-shirts, pants, dresses for my nieces and nephew won't fit anymore!! Good thing I did not send canned goods or plenty of chocolates because for sure it will melt and it is no used anyway. Here are the photos of my box and tell me if nothing was taken inside hehehe. My brother jokingly called the box "JINGLE BELL" box because you can shake it.
The lesson of all what happen. DON'T SEND TO ANY SHIPPING COMPANY THAT YOU ARE NOT CERTAIN OR SURE THAT THIS COMPANY IS WELL ESTABLISH. (I knew this company from a Filipino news paper) It is better to pay a higher shipping fee and be certain that in 45 days my  box arrive to the destination.
Send this box October 2010 for $65.00 -  Delivered at our house August 2011 with additional cost of       $25.00. Hubby noticed  the gray tape that is taped on the box. We don't used this kind of tape because it is not durable. I am pissed off for now because my brother paid for an additional $25 for this box to be delivered and still many things are missing inside. It feels like you are robbed two or three times. But oh well, as hubby had said, it is only material things I never loss my soul for this but many people who victimized us did!! One thing for certain, no more AEROSEND and for sure the owner of this shipping company could change the name anytime. We have to be aware to any shipping company that offers low shipping fee and all these promos that they can offer. DON'T TAKE THE BAIT! Ask the person who pick up your box, asked the name and address of who is the owner of the company and the name and address of the agent in your place. Happy weekend!

A New Bedding

It is almost the end of summer.  And again it is time for fall cleaning for winter time, and for me it is also checking time for good and dependable comforters. As we all knew we people here in the north will experience snow storm in the month of January or February. And this is the hardest part for everybody if you do not have enough stuff that could keep you warm. Everybody should be prepared in this kind of weather because it is rough.
The other day I was cleaning our closet and sorting the bedding that I am going to use for winter. I discovered that some are not good anymore. If before they are thick now it feels thin and it will not definitely give warm. So I decided to check online if there are many bedding, bedding sets or comforters that are on sale. I found one website Brylane Home that has everything you need.  I was browsing the site and try to figure out what I am going to buy and my eyes caught this beautiful blue comforter. This for me is the right color for winter. It is also a favorite color of hubby. Then I looked for the bedding sets they are all in the price range that I set for my budget.  Of course, I asked the opinion of my hubby and he gave me a go signal to order the things that I like. And don’t forget to sign up for emails so you can get a free shipping for your first order, check there promotions for more good stuff offered.

Sky Watch Friday

Every time you wake up and ask yourself, What good things am I going to do today?, remember that when the sun goes down at sunset, it will take a part of your life with it. Proverb

Softly the evening came. The sun from the western horizon. Like a magician extended his golden wand o'er the landscape; Twinkling vapors arose; and sky and water and forest, Seemed all on fire at the touch, and melted and mingled together. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Broken address signs

Fall is fast approaching here in Michigan our temperature for the whole week is below 70F. Some people here find it very comfortable but for some it is chilly already.
Woke up this morning a little bit early I like to see the sunrise but I like more to see the foggy field though I did not take a picture. I was walking around the house checking my flowers I noticed our address signs is broken. I did not noticed it yesterday but today half of it was on the ground. I think the wind and rain last Saturday was the culprit of why it was broken ^_^. I told hubby that we have to find a good house address plaques the one that won't be broken so easily and we need two of them. He told me before he wanted to put it on the side of our house and one at the mail box but I like to put one address plaque that I could attach to a huge rock right next to the driveway. Aside from that I like it to be clear and the one that illuminates at night specially in Winter when snow is too high and sometimes you almost can not see the mail box ^_^.

Why I use Carbonite

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Carbonite for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I had experienced crashes with my laptop few years ago. I was devastated because all my photos were there and my hubby’s important files were there too. I did not backup my photos and my hubby’s documents because I thought it would not happen to me. However, I was very wrong. When my laptop crashes I was in panic and I do not know what to do. Hubby and I went to a repair person and he told us that he could not retrieve the files or the photos it was a blow from me. I so love those photos and all of it were gone. That experienced opened my eyes to find an online backup .

When I got my new laptop, I forgot to find a computer backup thankfully, hubby reminded me about what happened and since then I looked for an affordable one. A friend introduces me to Carbonite . A life insurance

Do you have a life insurance? Or any kind of insurance for yourself? I don't! Because I don't understand it and nobody did tried to explain it to me. I have known many people to have more than a million or half a million dollar insurances and some are just meager. I remember one time somebody came to talk to me about insurances but I have more questions than answers. Yesterday, I was with my friend and  we shared about life insurances and they had a lot. She told me to visit www.advantagetermlife.com  and read the things that is written in the website. She found out that this website used words that are easy to understand and not to too technical that only them who can understand it. So when I get home last night I looked at it immediately and yes it is very common words and I also found out that you can ask an online qoute. I always heard this words  insurance premiums but I really don't know what is that but when I looked at the website I kind of understand it. I was thinking last night after browsing the website that it is not too late to get a life insurance and I think I have to do it now.

Is it tough to decide?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I remember the first time cell phone comes out from the market, it is bulky and it is only for calling. Then they introduced texting but it is only two liners. However, those days you are bound to one or two companies that is excessively expensive.  In fact, those times not all people have cell phones because they thought they already have home phones why add another bill to pay which is right.

These days we have plenty of options. But here is a fact,  like us we are bound to 2 year contract and we only have 350 minutes a month and if hubby use all his minutes he is going to pay almost 50 cents every minute he consume. How absurd is that? Only this year that I know Straight Talk. My stepdaughter told me she love it from the beginning she had it. I was a bit jealous because Straight Talk does not have a contract, no surprise bills, you can call a friend anywhere you go, and everything you need  for a phone they have it too.

I questioned myself why I do not know Straight Talk am I too naive that I did not asked or looked around the best phone service to anyone? Right now, I feel doomed because we pay high bills that which included the surcharges that I do not understand. The other day I asked my stepdaughter to answer some of my questions and I am very impressed of what I hear. For monthly plans, they have unlimited monthly service for only $45, includes calls, text, picture messaging and web. The 411 calls are included at no extra charge. The activation, reactivation and or termination are no fees! Most especially there, international long distance service is a flexible prepaid calling service that enables you to make international calls from your home, cell or office phone at low rates. Added to my excitement they have all the phones that have everything you need   .  Therefore, if mom knows best Straight Talk is the best phone for my family and me too. Do not be a Hook, line and sinker say it loud we are for Straight Talk!

A week old load

I was watching Mother Angelica on EWTN and  she said something "Don't carry a load more than a week old." What does this mean for you? For me it means if you get hurt by someone don't let it an hour or days, weeks, months, years passed by mend it right away for we don't know that tomorrow we are gone in this world.  Easy to say but hard to do right? Yup it is because we people when we get hurt we want to baby the hurt that people inflicted on us. It is very hard to let it go and forgive the people who done it for you. In our lifetime we are hurt different ways. Some had very deep wound that we think it would never get healed but if we look at the bible God said let me carry for you but if we don't know God then who and where we gonna go? So to carry a load that far and that much is not worth a trip. ^_^

ABC Wednesday - E

I know many women here like to cook ^_^ and I think they are familiar with Pampered chef. I look at online and geez this stuff is not cheap! I love stoneware/ EARTHENWARE and when my SIL  gave her loaf pans to mine I have to get it ^_^. I looked at it in the internet if it is still available couldn't find it anymore I think this is really pretty old, huh? And I think it needs a little bit of tlc and find how to clean it up but no soap required.

                                                                   EGG ROLL
This reminds me to make it today hubby love this food.

                                                                    fresh

                                                                  fried

                                                                  EGGPLANT
This is the kind of eggplant that we Filipinos like to use for cooking. My favorite way of cooking this is to grill or broil, then peel off the skin, mash the eggplant with fork, dip it with egg then fry. I call it "Tortang Talong". ^_^

I got yah!! The ELUSIVE butterfly.
