Need a new carpet

It's on this time of the year that I have a hard time maintaining the cleanliness on the floor. You see our kitchen floor has a tiled floor, our living room is carpeted, both the bedroom are also carpeted, the hallway is wood floor and the bathroom is tiled. But the worst part that looks like dirty to me all the time is the back room, the kitchen and the living room where there is always a traffic flow in there. Last week, we cleaned our carpet by steaming and washing it but because we have a firewood it seems like a squeaky clean carpet will last long. So I told hubby that this coming Spring the thing that we would do is to go to Sears and ask for their Carpet prices. I want to get rid of our green carpet, lol!! It's old and it's nothing that we could do to make it look nice. I still don't know what color our carpet would be but one thing for sure that is certain I would change it ^_^

The New Kitchen Window

Thanks to guest blogger Will Simon for the post.

During our kitchen kitchen remodel last summer, we decided to replace the old kitchen window with a newer, more energy efficient model. Not only was this a good decision over the long run to help lower energy costs, but we were able to write off part of the purchase and get a bigger tax refund last year.
The old window found above the sink, leaked cold winter air like nobody's business. The new replace window does a much better job of keeping out the winter freeze. We got it by looking for the best sears windows in South Carolina. It's on a west facing wall, so the winds come whipping across the open field and press their way through every crack and crevice on that side of our house.
We chose a casement window that cranks open because I'm short and have had to climb on the countertop and into the sink to open the standard window we replaced. Even then, it was difficult to open. I'm young at this point, but in the next 10 to 20 years my body may not be as flexible as it is today. All of our current home improvements are based on the future needs we might have.
I'm in love with this new replace window. It's easy to open, easy to clean, keeps the cold air outside where it belongs, and I no longer need to hoist myself up onto the countertop to open it in the summertime.

Home improvement comparison shopping

I’m always on the search for a bargain, but I just don’t love the extra cash. There’s no greater feeling for me than finding an amazing deal with a little hard work and research. This applied to everything, TVs, clothing, gifts, whatever.
So when I wanted to get some new siding for our house I shopped around with some local dealers and contractors, and then with larger corporations and services. But I have to say, I was a little surprised that the best deal ended up being with sears home pro vinyl siding.
They had what I was looking for and it ended up being at a reasonable price. I knew it was worth the investment because I’ve always heard that vinyl siding is a cost-effective way to increase a house’s value and asking price. They also had a color that I really liked and was getting sick of the plain white color that my home was painted then.
Plus, a no to low maintenance change to my home is a drastic improvement in my opinion. I’m not just cheap, I’m pretty lazy too.

Bluebird

Again, watching my backyard birds this morning. And as I was watching a small cutie pie Bluebird passed the window. I grabbed my camera and ...
