Sad news..

I woke up this morning around 7Am. I immediately checked my emails, opened my yahoo messenger thinking my niece might leave some offline messages, then I checked my friendster inbox. I found out I have one message from my former officemate who is now residing in Canada and here is her message...

Hi Kim,
It's really sad. We just pray for him.

AFter I read the message I had this mixed emotion, nagkamali-mali ang type ko I am trembling I am angry I cried. I couldn't believe it! I cried because I know H., we've work together for how many years, we are the original accounting staff in that company and I've no problem with our team until I resigned from work and now he is gone? He is a very good person and I knew he is a good provider to his family. But I  cried more for I pity him for what his wife did to him, I know for sure dinidibdib niya yung pag-iwan nang asawa niya. SAna nga lang maligaya ang kanyang wife ngayon at sana nga lang hinde mangyayari sa kanya ang nangyari kay H. "what you sow is what you reap" kung baga. In remembrance to my friend H. rest assured of my prayers. May you rest in peace.

A busy Friday...

This morning I had bagoong and piniritong tilapia for breakfast. Heavy na heavy ang breakfast ko since we are going to my brother in laws property to get more woods for winter. I finished my breakfast with so much gusto hubby only took cereals with milk and carrot juice. Anyway, after I finished eating I started packing for food, water and coffee. We then picked up my step-daughter in her house and off we go. We filled the huge trailer with split woods for barely two hours!! Hubby thought we are so fast jeez if I work and so fired up I don't like to stopped. After working hubby was so hungry we went to Mama Marias resto and got some fish and chips (remember it is Friday no meat lol). After eating we headed home, but surprise2x I am not that too tired!! I raked the twigs and some dry leaves in the front garden, after that I went inside the house and clean up the kitchen! Then I took a shower after shower I change the bedsheets and pillowscases jeez I only eat bagoong and piniritong tilapia I already felt I am some kind of superwoman haha. Right now as I am typing this entry I already felt it is about time to get some rest and hit the hay indeed it is a very busy Friday.

Boyet Fajardo Scandal

Have you girls and guys heard about this scandal in the Philippines that happened last March 13, 2009? I was so kind of late because I just found this scandal at Bobbelles blogsite. After, I read belles entry I was not feeling okay I just get mad so I google the name and here it was all the people are reacting over the blogs and you tube about what this so called "famous designer" did. I also watched the youtube video hinde ko nakayanan after nakita kung pinaluhod nang balahurang "designer" na ito ang isang cashier to apologize here is the story and the video.

On Sept. 1, 1980, he opened his first shop on Banaue street in Quezon City as a bid to join the big names in the made-to-order industry at 17 and a college sophomore (at UST, where he was majoring in Fine Arts). Boyet Fajardo believed that he had what it takes to make it in fashion alongside the more established names like Ben Farrales.
Today, Boyet is one of the biggest names in RTW. His Boyet Fajardo line is carried in all Robinsons stores—there are about 20 of them all over Metro Manila and in the provinces—and the Landmark. Since making the big shift from couture clothes to RTW
Boyet Fajardo can truly be called a success. He has become both an artistic and financial success. In fact, he recently had his new office-cum-residence located in Valle Verde, officially blessed. The house, which has a large garden, is doted with Boyet’a favorite antiques and paintings. He also recently bought a house in nearby Acropolis, which was blessed on Nov. 28, a blessing that was attended by many of Boyet’s longtime clients and friends.
He has truly come a long way…..
Well that is how he was, till we came across and saw how far his success has made him.
eye witness account-
Last March 13, 2009—or Friday the 13th—we went with our Tatay Rey (who just arrived from Abu Dhabi as OFW a day before) to Duty Free Philippines Fiesta Mall in ParaƱaque to shop and point. Or we point and he’ll buy…hehehe:)
While waiting in line at the cashiers to pay our goodies…we saw a customer at the top of his voice berating the cashiers and managers of Duty Free... From what my sister told me, it was about a credit card purchase that the cashier was kindly asking for the irate customer's ID to vouch for the legit owner of the credit card which was also “unsigned”—a normal operating procedure to avoid misuse.
He might have thought a celebrated person like he is with all his accolades and fame had gone unrecognized by this cashier person who was doing the job he was trained to do. Tsk tsk tsk…
While Store Managers and officers were sought to appease the matter, explaining to him that it is standard operating procedure in credit card safety, not only for the company but also his own.Ignoring this, he pulled out his phone and threatened to call high positioned people whom he allegedly knew, to make these people realize how important he is.. he went on using words like “LECHE KAYO, DI NYO KO KILALA? AKO SI BOYET FAJARDO! AT ITONG P..I.. NA BABAENG ITO, (pointing to a lady officer) AT ANG BAKLANG ITO (pointing to the cashier) AY WALANG KWENTANG MGA TAO! I WANT THEM FIRED!!!
His yelling and berating went on and on, he could not calm down and went on to say, that only if the cashier would kneel down before him and/or allow him to freely slap the persons face, would he get satisfied.AND, you know what happened next...the poor cashier simply gave in, crying in shame. He knelt down and apologized before this self proclaimed GOD….

AFter several days Boyet Fajardo apolizes at TV patrol, watching the video I don't buy his apology it lacks sincerity. But if given a benefit of the doubt, okey he apologizes of what happened but geez Mr. Boyet Fajardo bakit mo PINALUHOD ang isang cashier just because he ask your signed identification. Kung nag argue lang kayo FINE with that it happened all the time but PINALUHOD??? Wow sino ka para luhuran!! Even my husband can't looked the video again he says it is sickening. Buti nalang hinde kita kilala at wala akong dress na galing sa iyo hehe kung hinde sinunog ko na. Here is what he says at TV Patrol.

ITO ANG SORRY MOMENT NI FAJARDO

REasoning power niya bulok!! ano daw??
1. He just came from a long trip he was so tired.
My answer: Parang akala niya siya lang ang nakaranas nang long trip. Eh kada uwi ko sa pinas 18 hours yun. Pero never na uminit ulo ko pagdating sa PInas iiyak pa nga ako at very glad to see kababayan around.
3. My lagnat siya.
My answer: Ikaw lang naman ang may lagnat na puro shopping ang ginawa bakit di ka dumiretso sa hospital.

Hay naku maloloka ako kay Maring Boyet Fajardo. What makes my blood boil is when I saw the cashier knelt infront of him!! Kakaloka ang bakla!

Rings tag

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger? There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.....

Thumb represents your Parents. Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings. Middle finger represents your-Self. Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner. & the . . . Last (Little) finger represents your children. Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back. Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip. (As shown in the figure below):
Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later. Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)...., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.
Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)...., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day. Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse). You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT..... because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!! Please try this out and pass............. ISN'T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

Now I want to tag to all my friends who haven't done this tag yet. Please grab it!! Thanks!

Yesterday, was our family breakfast but I don't call it breakfast but brunch already since we came to the restaurant at 10:30 am and some arrived at 11:00 am. Anyhow, after eating and chitchatting hubby and I went to the post office to mail some mails to her brother who lives in Texas then we dropped by at Nexted/sprint store because my cellphone's one year contract is out already. I opted not to renew it I might get a pre-paid phone since I don't talked much on the cellphone I only consume at least 50 minutes in a month. Afterwards, we went to Sams as usual the most that we bought there are carrots because we do juicing out of carrots, then I saw this roses already sprouting with new branches I read the label and I almost immediately loved it!! The name of the roses is Climbing America great huh...and what makes me like it more is that it is a climbing roses and it exudes good smell that is what it says on the label so I trust to that. We bought one though, but I was thinking to get at least 2 or more because I love flowers and if I plant it today next year I would have more flowers right?

A Queens throne...

Two years ago hubby and I went to Holland,Michigan to see their Tulip Festival. After a day and a night of wandering around town the next day we proceeded to Grand Rapids and visited Meijers Gardens and Sculpture Park . I was so amaze of the trees, flowers and bushes that are well maintained and most specially the butterflies around. There garden is so huge we had to ride a trolley car  to go around and see sculptures around the park. But among all the plants that I've saw there is one thing that catches my eye. Ito siya...

Oh ayan, now imagine it kung harangin kang maging Queen of your kingdom at ito ang queens seat gusto mo pa bang uupong reyna? Sa akin okey lang basta ito din lang naman ang dapat uupuan nang aking mga alalay. Hahahaha!!

My bag tag...

It's been awhile that I've been tag about bag tag....this morning I had a chance to took a picture of my bag or purse and here it is. Thanks Claire for this tag I do appreciate it.

Things inside my bag are my cellphone, rosary, store coupons, checkbook and ballpen, car and house keys, my brown arnaldo bossini wallet which is 6 years old already, a comb and my red kikay purse which contains eye shadow, lipstick, lip gloss etc. and last but not the least is a feminine napkin.

Spring has sprung

Wohooo spring is here indeed. Last few days ago we had a taste of spring and boy it does makes me feel good specially when I feel the suns heat on my skin. As what one title of a poem says “Spring has sprung” and so does the trees and some bushes too. I looked at our lilac bushes the other day there buds are sprouting already. I was trimming and cutting my flowers old branches and loving every moment of it. I am experimenting something though,  I had this 3 evergreen tree in front of our house they are growing naturally pretty but I like them to spread there branches so I cut the tip of the tree and will see if it does do good than harm crossing my fingers!!I am a nature kind of person I love to plant flowers and specially trees. Last year, I tasted the fruit of my labor -wink- my peach trees that hubby and I planted few years ago bore fruit. At first it sprouts plenty of blossoming flowers but it came out to have 13 fruits but on the last time that it was ready to be picked 5 fruits remained some fell down because of the wind. And the 5 fruits that lasted and succumb to wind and everything does taste so sweet and I was so happy I have eaten already the taste of our labour char!! We planted 3 peach and 3 pear trees but unfortunately our pear trees died and so the peach remains. The other day hubby and I roamed around our property line I told him if only we planted trees the first year I came here in MI I already have trees that almost 5 years now. But it was still okay I still have many more years to come and so the planting of the trees continues. For now I have 3 peach trees, one lilac bush that I couldn't barely find hehe, 2 royal empress trees that hubby cut off with his lawn mower last year, I am hoping that this two trees are still alive and kicking lol, then my 3 evergreen trees who just got my experimenting moment syndrome hehe, 1 blueberry tree who really tried to stay alive in this complex world. Oh by the way here is the poem hubby likes to say when spring time comes:

Spring Has Sprung

Spring has sprung, the grass has ris’,
I wonder where the birdie is?

There he is up in the sky,
He dropped some whitewash in my eye!

I‘m alright, I won't cry,
I'm just glad that cows can't fly!

Hiso (hair tonic)

Okay guys ang gals who among you do have a problem with dry scalp and dry hair specially in Winter. (Raising my right hand) Yup that is me! And if you don’t have that problem you are lucky. Every winter that is my problem here my scalp tend to be very dry and so my hair the result is dandruff which is pag spring and summer naman wala akong dry scalp and dandruff. Siguro because the temperature is different from winter time.
The other day I had enough already, I’d tried all kind of brands for dandruff shampoo from Neutrogena to Selsun Blue wa epek pa rin. Then I remember I brought from last year a bottle of Virgin Coconut Oil. I remember my Mama told me that when she was young and living in the province in a Barrio they used to do some hiso with pure coconut milk. Because I noticed at that time even if my Mama was in her 60’s already she still don’t have a gray hair and her hair is jet black and the hair texture is strong. Remembering all those stuff I shake off my lazy bug in me and tried the hiso that day. Ay sus nangamoy talaga ulo ko na parang nagmamay-ari nang ikta-iktaryang niyugan hahaha. I wrap my hair with towel then let it stay for an hour then I shampoo and put conditioner on my hair. The result no dry scalp and no dandruff my hair was so silky I just love it. Since nakita ko na ang pa gone forever nang dandruff ko specially in winter time I will use the virgin coconut oil all the time.

Being Tan

The first time I came here I don’t have any idea that people had to go to a tanning salon pay a certain amount of money or be a member of a salon just to become tan specially in the summer season. And I also didn’t realize that it doesn’t look good to some people hehe.

It was a hot afternoon I and hubby decided to go to Mc donalds to get my favorite yogurt parfait. Hubby didn’t like to order in drive thru so he parked the car and he went inside to order. While I was seated comfortably inside the car listening my favorite R & B music, across from where we were parked is a tanning salon. I was looking at it and all of a sudden the door opened. And two blond haired women came out and I was so shocked of what I saw!! The two women looked like reddish that I could compare it to a cooked shrimp or crabs hehehe. Yup they seem like being cooked. I was giggling to the max since it is my first time to see a woman who has just done tanning. I couldn’t believe it, it doesn’t looked good to me. When hubby came I told him about what I saw and he told me that when I get closer to this people who tanned their body they are wrinkled that it looks like resinette chuks! (Well for the older folks who get tanned. )

So hubby told me to be happy with my skin color. He says women here pay for what I’ve got. That is so cool huh! But we Pinay’s had this mentality that white or fair is beautiful. I guess it came from what we are told by our society back in PI. I remember, I am always compared to my sister who has the mestiza look. While me is not wahhhhhhhhh!! I don’t know if it has an effect on me because I don’t remember that I was mad or having low self-esteem about it. But I could remember the comparison being made by relatives and friends. Shocks!! It is only here in US of A that I am being praised of my skin tone yahooo!!! But you know what even if I am praised of having an exotic color (haha) still at the back of my mind (subconsciously) I still do like the fair or white skin tone. Bad me! Secretly, every time I went home in PI I always hoard for whitening lotion, whitening soap, whitening cream and etc. Isn’t it ironic??

Spring and summer is fast approaching I should be outside to enjoy the sun and fun so I could achieve my exotic look in a short time hehe. I am starting to love it though and embraces the fact that I have a skin tone women in America pay to have it. A good consolation to a mind that was shape to think that fair or white skin is pretty. Duh!!

Sunday~2nd Week of Lent

'Transfigured'
In today's Gospel, Mark says that Jesus was "transfigured." The Greek word that is translated "transfigure" is a word that means "change". As a matter of fact, it is the word "metamorphosis"-a Greek word used in the English language.
That specific word is used on only two other occasions in the New Testament, both times by Paul, and both times in reference to a change - not in Jesus, but in us:
~~~In the letter to the Romans, Paul says, "Do not model yourselves on the behavior of the world around you, but let your behavior change, modeled by your new mind." (12:2)
~~~In the second letter to the Corinthians, Paul says,"And we, with our unveiled faces reflecting like mirrors the brightness of the Lord, all grew brighter and brighter as we are changed into the image that we reflect; this is the work of the Lord who is Spirit,"(IICor.3:18)
My own transfiguration...
Sometimes we can look at the events of the Gospel the same way we watch television. We are spectators. We watch what is happening to someone else on TV, and there is no link to our own life. It is far away. The events of Jesus' life are far away -- almost 20 centuries separate us from the events and from the cities where they happened.
But the Gospels weren't written to be just interesting stories of exemplary incidents in the life of someone else. And so, the Transfiguration of Jesus is not just an interesting incident in the life of Jesus. The event described in the Gospel is a moment when the brightness and beauty of spiritual realities that have been there all the time break through to the surface.
The spiritual realities are meant to be part  of us- even though they will not usually break through in a spectacular scene like the Transfiguration.
We are to "change" as Jesus changed, to allow his Spirit to burn within us with the brightness that was in him- a brightness that shines through in our love, in our smile, in our forgiveness, in our understanding.
But this "transfiguration" of ourselves into a beautiful person is tough, won a step at a time. I have to work my way there. That's why we have Lent.

A dream house

What happened to my Saturday? I went to my friends house today for lunch she live just very close to me just LESS than 5 minutes drive kung maganda ang panahon pwedeng mag-hike lang. When I get out from our driveway it was foggy yay!! I don't like driving in foggy, snowy, rainy kind of weather a lot of things to looked at. Anyhow, after eating fried tilapia and sinigang na bangus we watched filipino movie at around 3:00 pm I went home. We were scheduled to sent money to Pinas this afternoon but I was sitting on the recliner chair when I dozed off and you know how much time I slept it's about 4 long hours!! It was not a nap huh? Anyhow, here is my blog entry for today.

A dream house......

When I was young I used to draw a house it was not a typical nipa house because in my drawing it has an antenna of a tv, a dining area, a living area with tv, a bedroom so I could say it was a bungalow type. But outside of the house I draw a sea with banca sailing on it. Then I draw rice field, big tree and coconut trees. I also draw flowers that looked like gumamela. Then outside there are people like a mother, father and kids running around. That was before when I was young. When I became a teen-ager my drawings were different
Last two year ago we were invited to a wedding of my hubby’s nephew in San Antonio, Texas. My hubby has two brothers who live down in Texas. For the first few days we stayed at his other brother and in the end of our stay we stayed at his youngest brother. When we arrived at the gated community we punched numbers in order for the gate to opened, after it opened automatically we drove around and looked for the house number when we found the house I was mesmerized by how huge and beautiful the house is. As we go inside the house I feel like I am in a palace geez it takes me for awhile to think and rethink if this could be my dream house?? The other half of me is telling me this is too huge for the two of us the other half of my mind said I can live like this kind of life hehe what the heck huh!! The house has 8 rooms, two big game rooms, a nice pool outside, at the lake with a boat house, a jet ski and a boat, a movie theater and a lot more! I then ponder was it my dream house? And my answer is Yes and No.

TGIF

Wow it is Friday again where does all the days go? It seems that everything now a days just go by so fast sometimes we had a hard time grasping what is happening.
My week was a bit busy I should say. As I looked back I only stayed at home for the whole day last Wednesday to do my household chore which is doing the laundry. Monday, hubby and me went to the bank after that we went to his nephews insurance company office to pay a whole year of insurance payment. Then we went to  Sams to shopped more carrots for our juicing and some stuff. Then we went to Sav plus to buy tilapia fish and again some stuff. Arrived home almost completely dark I was exhausted. Then Tuesday, we went for a family brunch at a nearby resto at 11 am. Hubby was excited and happy to see all his grown up children  specially those who live a little bit far from us arrived to have brunch with us. We stayed at the resto for almost 3 hours hehe. Wednesday was my time to do the laundry I thought we gonna get some woods but it is kind of chilly hubby decided not to go and it's fine with me. Tuesday after lunch we went to our tax accountant to gave the signed form that they send us. The good news is we are going to have a tax refund wohoooo!! After in the tax office we went to a gun shopped and looked around I saw this PINK beretta gun my heart melts it is just so pretty. I remembert this words "FOR YOUR EYES ONLY" because that is how I felt when I saw that pretty pink gun. Just for my eyes I don't have a license to carry nor own one wahhhh!! After window shopping in that store hubby and me went to visit my sister in law and had dinner. Then we went to a car shop to pick up her car from there we went home. The weather yesterday was not cold not too chilly so hubby decided to get busy with splitting woods of course I am with him assisting specially operating the splitter which is my favorite thing to do hehe. So it is Friday today, the weather report says it's going to be warm. I don't know if I will stay outside or chill out with my favorite LMN channel which I am kind of addicted  already.

Bluebird

Again, watching my backyard birds this morning. And as I was watching a small cutie pie Bluebird passed the window. I grabbed my camera and ...
