Water World Wednesday

                                                    Welcome to WATER WORLD WEDNESDAY
                                                                        Episode 22, Year 1

These photos were taken last fall. As we all know it is only the state of Michigan that is surrounded with a huge body of water. There were three huge lake that surrounded Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. In my native country Philippines Lake is not famous we have river but it is not huge and we are surrounded with sea and ocean. The first time I saw Lake Huron and Lake Michigan I couldn’t believe and my mind couldn’t accept that what I am seeing is a Lake. It has waves, I found out there are shipwrecked that happened moons ago, small boat and huge cargo ship is sailing too. Here are some photos that I took at Port Huron.

On the left side is the US side on the right side is the Canada side.
See the huge cargo ship it is huge at the same time this tiny boat is enjoying the day.

This is the Canadian side the name of this bridge is Blue Water Bridge
I would like to see your water image. Take time to visit our friend bloggers and leave comment.

Restless Heart

Synopsis

RESTLESS HEART uses a historic backdrop to tell the true story of Augustine of Hippo – one of the Catholic Church’s most beloved and well-known Saints. Its message is as timely today as it was only a few generations after Jesus walked on Earth. It is the story of one who pursues fame and fortune without a moral compass – and the changes that occur when events lead him to see the light. It also chronicles the collapse of the Roman world and how Augustine laid the intellectual foundations of what became Europe.

Filmed in Europe, this new epic film is the first full-length feature movie about St. Augustine.

The Story

In 430 AD, in the besieged city of Hippo, the 70-year-old Bishop Augustine told Jovinus, a captain of the Roman guards, the story of how his Christian mother, Monica, saved him.

As a youngster in Roman North Africa, Augustine witnessed the persuasive effectiveness of the orator Microbius, whose lynchpin for any argument was, “These are facts…not words.” Augustine fell victim to his own ego, becoming a narcissist who was “eager to be eminent.” Monica, his mother and a Catholic, played a significant role throughout his life, reminding him that her hope and prayers are that “one day, we will be united in our faith.”

He left home for Carthage as a teen-ager to study under Microbius, and became a great orator and lawyer. His lustful, self-centered ways led to all sorts of debauchery – and to romance with the servant woman assigned to him. As a lawyer, Augustine proved worthy of his training – even convincing a jury to acquit a guilty man of assaulting his wife. He ultimately returned home, only to be invited to Milan to become the emperor’s orator.

When ordered to speak out against Catholic Bishop Ambrose, who is seen as a threat to the young emperor and his power, Augustine listened to Ambrose preach and ultimately used the bishop’s own words – and the words of the Scriptures – against him. When the emperor ordered Augustine to seize the basilica in Milan to weaken the bishop, he witnessed the senseless murders of innocent Catholics as the Roman army attempted to take over the basilica.

Before the speech, in a meeting with Augustine, the bishop suggested to the young lawyer that men never find the truth. “They must,” he said, “let the truth find them.” The truth found Augustine following the attack on the basilica. He decried the murders of innocents in a speech before the emperor and walked out – into a Catholic conversion. He told Bishop Ambrose that, for the first time, he stopped talking and listened. After baptizing him, the bishop noted that God will ask more of Augustine than of others because of his gifts as a great communicator. And in a prophetic gesture, he handed the newly baptized Augustine a jar of ink and encouraged him to “use it all.”

In one of the film’s most powerful scenes, the now-Catholic Bishop Augustine publicly debates the bishop of the Donatists, a sect against whom he struggled for many years. An impartial judge decides the winner.

Back in Hippo, on the eve of a vicious attack by Vandal raiders, Bishop Augustine urged the Roman garrison to negotiate with the Vandal King Genseric, but they proudly refused. Their decision forced Augustine to make a heroic decision of his own. By then, he had used almost all of that ink – in writing some of the most beloved documents in Church history, including “The Confessions” and “The City of God.”

Weekend Sky

Saturday hubby and I went to visit Fr. Solanus Casey Center in Detroit. The sky is gloomy and cloudy...

After the visit we went to Greektown in Detroit walk around and finally found a Greek restaurant.

Sunday, after attending mass hubby and I went to the thumb part of Michigan. Our plan is to see the 150 miles yard sale but ended up just driving around the water and it was fun.

A huge factory and see the sky awesome in blue!

At St. Claire township a park along the river. Across the river is Canada.

                                                                  Love this lighthouse.

As we are heading home I look up and saw this beautiful form of clouds. Looks like the gateway of heaven. What do you think?

Will On The Water

Last Sunday hubby and I went for a drive. Our goal is to see a 150 miles yard sale located at the north east part of Michigan. As we came near  to the two Michigan roads (M-25 and M-29) we do not know where to go I decided to go south and that is M-29. We followed the road and we came to a town that is having a Shakespeare Festival. It was very cool watching the plays and watching the people dressed up like in the medieval era. We had so much fun that day and yes I ate smoke turkey leg! ^_^

We stayed on this tent for a while the music coming is really fantastic and she played well.

Tankless Water Heater

Last March hubby and I went to visit his relatives in Texas. It was my third time to visit Texas and the first time I notice there, they do not have basements. I do not know if some of the houses do have basements there but many that I know of do not have one. Unlike here in Michigan, most of the houses do have basements.  I do not know before about what is in the basement I just thought it is an additional part of the. A part of the house that family could be together to watch movie or do games. However, I found out that in the basements it is where all the electric and water plumbing system are located. Water heater tanks are also there and many things that make the house function well. In Texas, it is quite different since they do not have basements they have rooms for those system. In my native country Philippines, we have tank less water heater because we also do not have basement in our house.

Many do not know the benefits of a Tankless Water Heater and here are the few:

1. No Energy wasted with Tankless Water Heater

2. Government incentives make Tankless Water Heater more affordable then ever before.

3. Correct Installation makes the difference

Basing on my experience Tankless water heater is very easy to maintain, dependable and affordable. In this time when money is tight, we need a system like this. Therefore, when we were in Texas few months ago, that is what I notice to some of my hubby’s relatives. Plumbing in Woodlands TX is not hard to find. You can visit there website by clicking the name this days it is hard to find a good plumber. Frankly speaking, sometimes we find plumbing company that does not give good service and we end up frustrated.  Woodlands Water Heater is dependable and in time of Emergency Woodlands Plumber is there to help. Call them if you need them in no time they are there to help you.

Dodge State Park

They said just a matter of ten miles you can find lake in Michigan and I bet that is true. Summer is fun here in Michigan because people spend a lot of time at the lake, may it be a private own or state park. Last weekend we went to Dodge State Park and I am amazed how huge this lake is. While we were there rain is trying to pour on us but the wind is much stronger the cloudy and gloomy sky is moved by the wind. It was a cool Saturday afternoon it is windy the water is rough but the party with friends and the food is great!

Grease Traps

I am thankful that hubby is working at our kitchen today even if it is too hot outside.  I was complaining for quite sometime about our drainage from our kitchen sink it is been plugged up for more than three months and sometimes I noticed it smells bad. Together with his friend, they check up all the possible causes and are still working it now. I am also guilty why our sink plugged up because I throw oil in it. Sometimes I throw peels from anything now I know it should not be.
I was talking to a friend of mine this morning and told her about what my hubby is getting busy today. She said sometimes it takes a lot of money to fix the problem I told her I hope not. I do hope hubby could fix it because money is tight these days. I was browsing the internet, saw this copper products, and while reading what it means my eyes get big because it is about grease interceptors. I think every household and who ever is cooking in the kitchen we cannot deny that somehow we throw cooking oil in the sink. Which is a big no to do because in due time it will plugged the whole system. If only I know that, there is such thing about grease interceptors I tell my hubby about it.
In my native country Philippines, we do not have these grease interceptors. I never know it then until this time. I thought of buying this one to send it to the Philippines but my question is do our workers in the Philippines know how to put this interceptors. Throwing anything in the sink could cause damage and in the end, it will cost a lot of money. Last two months ago while visiting my family in the Philippines  my Aunt had a problem with her septic tank and the outlet of her kitchen sink I bet it is about all those greases and garbage that are thrown and is now stuck inside. Now that I know, it is not easy to fix this kind of problem I am very cautious not to throw anything in the sink because I do not want to spend money to fix it.
