A different kind of tulip?

When I saw this flower at the Tulips Festival last month I couldn't believe it's a Tulip.
One thing that I regretted to take photo is the name of this tulip. It's gorgeous isn't it?

UPDATE: Thanks to Maia I found out that this flower is not a tulip. The name is Imperial Crown Lily, ain't that gorgeous? And as I searched on the in the internet it has different color and it can be planted in Spring to bloom in Fall. Wish I could find bulbs for this, love this one another lily to be planted soon.

These are different--very pretty though. They just keep coming out with new varieties all the time. Have a nice weekend. Mickie :)

Very beautiful but it's not a tulip.
It is a Crown imperial (Fritillaria imperialis) in the lily family but it blooms earlier than other lilies (by us).
I was not able to take a decent photo of this beauty.

Hi Maia,
Thanks for the information. I thought this is another variety of tulip. It's gorgeous and it has different colors. I might try to plant this flower if I find bulb for sale. Thanks!!
