Marbles anyone?

Hey friends who among you remember how to play marbles and how many marbles you've got? We were in this store last Saturday, and by the looked from a far I thought it was candies. But when I was close enough, I noticed it was all marbles in different colors  and sizes! I don't know if kids now a days still play marbles but in my time boys and girls played a lot! Enjoy the pictures!

Brings back memories! We used to treasure our marbles...we'd look at them one by one, long for the big "boulder" marbles and trade them for others. Cool Yellow and Blue post!

Beautiful display of the marbles. That would have been fascinating to see them up close and look at all the pretty colors and designs. I loved playing and collecting marbles as a kid. Loved the big "boulders!"

Yesterday was crazy. So crazy, that I'm pretty sure that at one point, I may have lost my marbles-- perhaps just misplaced them? In the meantime, mind if I borrow a few of yours? LOL! Happy Mellow Yellow!

We never had a lot of them growing up but I do remember my Grandma and Grandpa buying us marbles. I have three or four of those.
I've never seen a place like this. I'd be like a kid in a candystore.
Great photos!

I had no idea there were things such has marble stores. I played marbles for "keepsies" as a child. Marbles were eventually banned from the playground.

I don't remember playing marbles as a kid, but I do like collecting them now - because they make pretty light when the sun shines through them.

I remember the days of second grade, Slye School in East Hartford CT. Marbles were the game of 1963, and the winnings determined your status. I was far from a champ, but never lost my marbles completely...

What a wide variety of marbles! I remembered playing with marbles as a child, that time outdoor play is the norm. Nowadays kids are stuck in front of their electronic games!

LOVE the marbles. I do remember drawing a circle in the dirt and the marble game was on. These are so pretty.

I used to have a collection of antique marbles that I bought at an estate auction (I was caught up in the excitement and really wanted to bid on something and that was the only thing I could afford LOL). I wonder whatever happened to them.
