Water World Wednesday

Welcome all to WATER WORLD WEDNESDAY
The second week of July how time flies so quick we are in the middle of 2012! It's our our Episode 16, year 1!

                                                                 How do we gauge poverty?

"However mean your life is, meet it and live it: do not shun it and call it hard names. Cultivate poverty like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Things do not change, we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts. " Henry David Thoreau

" The more you recognize and express gratitude for the things you have, the more things you will have to express gratitude for." ~ Zig Ziglar

Hi Joy I appreciate it! I took it from our hometown in the Philippines. Sometimes if I complain I would think of the people who live here. ^_^

Incredible photos! The first one is so humbling! Amazing that people can live in such conditions!

Amazing photos. So much detail, even though it seems to have been taken from a distance.

Beautiful pictures, I like to live in a place as beautiful as this. But a few days, I do not trust those houses in equilibrium.

i love the Thoreau quote. a friend once told me that poverty is subjective--a millionaire can feel poor while a man living in one of these huts feels rich. when we want less, we are rich with just a little...so indeed, less is more.:p

Great shots Kim, interesting place.

Poverty is still a big issue here, in my country.
Great shots, Kim.

I love the Thoreau Quote!!!!

Personally, these photos you've shared tells me that my life is nothing like what they live....and that I have nothing to complain about tho I do.

Very interesting images, great shots. Have a nice day.

I agree Luna. So many I have known who have so much money and material wealth are still looking for something to fill the emptiness in there heart. They can't even sleep well at night while those who live this way had experience the most awesome beauty rest! For me, I'll be happy for what I have now and be thankful. But I am guilty sometimes because I complain a lot hehehehe. ^_^

Kim, USA said...

You are right. You are not alone in complaining I too complain and I feel guilty sometimes. ^_^

...by the way Kim....I've been meaning to put this in a comment for you, and keep forgetting. After I read your comment you left for me on my birding blog, I just had to come back and make sure I added this...

I have been wanting to say to you, 'congrats on the 10 pound weight loss!!!!"

...and I know just where you lost it....it came directly to ME!

I'd love to visit this place and sit for awhile.

Those are amazing shots. Truly we do put way too much emphasis on material goods.

Excellent quote and the shots meet it well! I believe sharing can drive away the poverty and bring equality. Wish I could join the water Wednesday and I see it in other blogs too.
