ABC Wednesday: Zucchini

It's ABC Wednesday once again and the letter for this week is letter Z!! I've been waiting for this letter to come since I have a very good Zucchini last summer. BUT (yup capital letter) in my garden I had a rival to who first can get the Zucchini.....and his name is Mr. Woodchuck!! That is why the last picture, you can see, a reddish powder...that is the hottest chili  or paprika I could ever find in the store. After we  put chili  or paprika on all the veggies (cabbage, zucchini, summer squash), Mr Woodchuck stopped eating our veggies, by then  we were able  to harvest our veggies. Here are the pictures!

I just show here the summer squash because the paprika/chili is visible than the zucchini.

I like how you resorted to get the woodchuck to not eat those beautiful looking veggies.
Great post for Z.

I see here you also have lady fingers / okras in your garden, and is that a long bean?

Mr Woodchuck reminds me of my li'l veggies garden back in Ohio. I don't know what kind of animal it was but it looks like a giant rat to me and he ate all my tomatos.I even try to plant KangKong in our little creek by throwing the stalks but that what-ever-you-call-it thing can swim and he ate all the stalks as well! lol!

Great looking veggies, and a great Z. I love squash of all kinds, and zucchini especially for Zucchini bread.

Sounds like a good idea putting chili powder on your veggies! In the Uk we use the French name for Zuchinni - courgette.

Hot post!

I don't blame Mr Woodchuck - zucchini are delicious! I have a big fat one in my fridge right now, waiting for tomorrow's dinner. :)

Your vegetables look delicious! I love to grow zucchini; the only problem with it is that I usually have way too many:) The chili powder is a great way to deter the woodchucks, not to mention environmentally friendly.

Great idea to keep the woodchucks out of the gorgeous zucchini and vegies. Beautiful crop!
