These photos were taken six years ago. Me and my step-daughters went to Mackinac Island for a Christian Women's retreat. We stayed for a night at the Grand Hotel where the movie Somewhere in Time was shoot. I was so thrilled when I set my foot to this place. I couldn't believed after sixteen years (watched the movie Somewhere In Time) I would visit the place.
This is the Grand Hotel and as far as I could remember they have 385 rooms and no two are the same!!! I know you won't believe it but please do I was there!! And it is one part why this hotel is awesome and unique. The food is really good. The color of the carpet are vibrant and the service is definitely awesome! Love to visit there next year especially I have a good camera now, lol!!

Where are all the boats?
One in my wish list to visit. And I have seen the movie so many countless times, and I even own one.
Spring or Summer might be just right to visit.
Nice photos indeed!

I remember getting sand off the beach from here...and such a COLD wintry, blustery day. Love the lighthouse photo.
Very cool! I am thinking about traveling here within the next year. Nice to see pictures of it and read a bit about what it's like. If you have time to stop by my site I'd love it if you'd follow along. www.forgottencompass.com

I have heard of this place, what a great spot for a retreat.
I've heard much about the Grand Hotel (I used to live in northern Ohio), but have never been there. I really enjoyed your pictures.
Wonderful photos....this place is on my "bucket list."

Thanks for visiting my blog!
What a treat to FINALLY see a photo of the Grand Hotel. I had no idea it was so big!!! Isn’t it nice that we have our cameras and can go back into our archives finding shots like your ones of the empty docks. They are lovely. And the lighthouse...it is so dear. I adore them. Such a nice post. genie
