Happy Birthday to my Mama

Today is the birthday of my Mama. If she didn't passed away 11 years ago she would be 76 years old today. I missed her very much. She is a very good wife,  a greatest mother,  a good daughter and the best teacher to her students and children.
Growing up I am a witnessed of her being a disciplinarian. My father is a sales rep and so my father is not with us for sometimes months. Therefore, my mother is the one who disciplined us. She is tough and she is stingy. As a teacher she thought as good values in life. Growing up she never spank us but she talked to us and sometimes hollered us as specially if we don't listened. She thought me to be responsible in early age. As the eldest of the three siblings she thought me all the household work, do the marketing, and learned how to prioritize. Before, looking back I don't like the way she treated me I thought at that time she is so unfair!  I don't hang out with friends nor be courted by boys. She is so strict to me specially boys. My parents told us to finished college get a job and that's the time when we have to go serious with boys. I said to myself, by that time all the boys are gone lol!!
My mom thought me how to pray. She thought me how to pray the novena's, to observe the event at church. But she was never pushy. She trusted me and the siblings and that if we go wrong then we have to pay the consequence. But she was always there like when my sister got pregnant. That's when I found out and witnessed that aside from her being disciplinarian she was the ultimate mother everybody would have. She still accepted my sister even I was fuming mad that she should not tolerate what she did!! But a mother is a mother, they have this unconditional love to us....and at that time I don't understand it why.
As a mom she is willing to sacrifice and do all for us. She worked as a teacher for 36 years. And it can't be denied and because we are also a dysfunctional family, there are problems from time specially when my sister and her husband got hooked with drugs. When my sister got pregnant I did understand why she accepted her but when they hooked with drugs I definitely don't understand why my mother STILL accepted them and forgive them and even helped them!! I am a volcano ready to explode and I did!!
By the time when she faced the tremendous problem in our family it was when I saw her as faithful to God as anybody I knew of. I realized that by her faith that made her hopeful that my sister and her husband will gonna change and she showed them love to the utmost degree.
She was the most lovable person and the most soft spoken mama ever. I am so thankful that in her last years in life I had the chance to bond with her. I was in the convent when I found out that she was so sick. I didn't hesitate to leave the convent and spend time with her and help her ease the problems and pain she had. And I think I did it pretty well. We became so close we go retreats together, go to seminars at church, go to mass together and just give her happiness in spite that I knew through her eyes that something in her heart is missing and that my sister.
I knew that she is in heaven. After 60 days she died I had a dream about her. She was clothed in a white dress and this light is shining at her back ground and it  looked like it blinded you but when I looked at it, I found out it's not. Then I saw my mama, I call her and tried to hugged her but I can't it seems that she is so closed but can't hold of her. I feel that I am in a different place and that I feel not  fitting to where she is. Then she was gone.
I missed my mom very much. She is the best and the greatest!

I missed the Kate and William wedding

I stayed late last night. I was chatting my niece from the Philippines and at the same time playing games. I was thinking of watching the wedding since few years ago I saw Diana and Charles get married. That time in the Philippines our tv is not totally colored, Lol!! It is not how it is today that it's flat scree, with 55 inches and with high definition colored tv, but that wedding was festive. I had this thought that, that wedding is what all the girls wanted. Years past and I don't like what happened to Diana and how she fought for her voice in that family. Until she died I also feel bad about it. Then stories came out what happened speculation and everything, but the point is from the beginning we all knew now that their was no love in that marriage. Might be totally because for sure Di had but what about Charles. So seems like sad.
Today, I tried to wake up early but didn't. Woke up around almost 11 am and everything I saw are footage in you tube, lol!! But it was okey then I just wished that Kate and William will have a good marriage and their married life will last.!!

Litratong Pinoy: Kalsada/Street

Kalsada nang Train huwag kang dadaan sa gitna ^_^

I-75
I means Interstate. Some state has the maximum speed of 65mph but here in Michigan our maximum speed allowed is 70 mph which is equivalent to 112 kmh. BUT  there is  a big but people tend to go higher than that specially if they think and see that cops are no where to be found waiting for them speeders. They go as high as 75 or 80 mph!!  That's why nobody would ever dare to cross this road or else, dead you!! LOL!

Road/street/kalsada malapit sa amin. Magandang lugar  pag Autumn.

He is Risen!!! Alleluia!!!

"I rose up and am still with Thee." After His labors and His humiliations, Christ finds rest with His Father. "I am still with Thee." This is perfect beatitude. Through His cross He entered into the possession of eternal glory. Christ has gained the crown of victory; through Christ men also win their crowns of victory. Humanity was under a curse and subject to the wrath of God. Now that they have risen with Christ, their guilt has been destroyed. "I rose up and am still with Thee." The liturgy places these words in the mouth of the Church that she may pray them with Christ.
"The earth trembled and was still when God arose in judgment." The resurrection of Christ is the judgment and condemnation of those who have turned away from God. This judgment was prefigured by the angel who passed through the land of Egypt destroying the first-born of the Egyptians. The Israelites marked the doors of their houses with the blood of the paschal lamb. We are the new Israel, and "Christ our Pasch is sacrificed." We mark ourselves with His blood, which we enjoy in the Holy Eucharist. We have been pardoned, we are saved, we shall live.
"He is risen." The resurrection of Christ is a pledge of our own resurrection. It is the foundation upon which our faith rests. It is the guarantee of our redemption and God's assurance that our sins are forgiven and that we are called to eternal life. "This is the day which the Lord hath made; let us be glad and rejoice therein. Give praise to the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever. Alleluia." "Christ our Pasch is sacrificed. . . . The Lamb redeems the sheep. Christ, the innocent One, hath reconciled sinners to the Father." — Excerpted from The Light of the World by Benedict Baur, O.S.B.

Prayer for Good Friday

Prayer for Good Friday

This prayer is designed to be said within the family before a Crucifix on Good Friday.
Mother or a child: Jesus lives his entire life for his journey or a child: under the Cross of salvation. St. John's Gospel gives us some of his last words (12:27-33):
Now my soul is troubled. And what shall I say! Father, save me from this hour. No, this is why I came to this hour! Father, glorify thy Name. There came therefore a voice from heaven: I have both glorified it, and I will glorify it again. Now is the judgment of the world, now will the prince of the world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up, will draw all things to myself.
Father: He humbled himself becoming obedient unto death, even to death on a Cross. Therefore God also has exalted him and has bestowed upon him the name that is above every name, so that at the Name of Jesus, every knee should bend of those in heaven, on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father.
We adore your Cross, O Lord, and we praise and glorify your holy resurrection
Family: because by this sacred wood joy has come into the whole world.
Father: Let us pray. We beseech you, O God, look upon this your family for whom our Lord Jesus Christ allowed himself to be betrayed into the hands of wicked men and to undergo the torment of the Cross. In his Name grant our petition.
Family: Amen.

Holy Thursday...

It's Holy Thursday. In our Christian belief tonight Jesus had HIS Last Supper with his disciples and the washing of feet too. And later this evening Judas will betrayed HIM.
In the Philippines after the evening mass followed by the Eucharistic Adoration we  do Visita Iglesia. And I think it would be eight churches that we have to visit do the Adoration then after visiting eight churches all around the city and towns we  then go back to our parish church. Here in MI hubby and I will go to our parish church for evening mass then Eucharistic adoration. I so wish this tradition that I used to do in the Philippines I could do it here in the US too.

Daily Readings for:April 21, 2011
(Readings on USCCB website)

Collect: God our Father, we are gathered here to share in supper which your only Son left to his Church to reveal his love. He gave it to us when he was about to die and commanded us to celebrate it as the new and eternal sacrifice. We pray that in this Eucharist we may find the fullness of love and life. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer of Wednesday of Holy Week

Prayer for Wednesday of Holy Week

The special prayer either before or after the Wednesday evening meal is a selection from Psalm 21, in which we see through the eyes of David the picture of Christ suffering for us on the Cross.
Psalm 21:23-32
I will proclaim your name to my brethren: in the midst of the assembly I will praise you; "You who fear the Lord, praise him; all you descendants of Jacob, give glory to him; revere him, all you descendants of Israel! For he has not spurned nor disdained the wretched man in his misery Nor did he turn his face away from him, but when he cried out to him, he heard him." So by your gift will I utter praise in the vast assembly; I will fulfill my vows before those who fear him. The lowly shall eat their fill; they who seek the Lord shall praise him: "May your hearts be ever merry!" All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord; All the families of the nations shall bow down before him. For dominion is the Lord's and he rules the nations. To him alone shall bow down all who sleep in the earth; Before him shall bend all who go down into the dust. And to him my soul shall live; my descendants shall serve him. Let the coming generation be told of the Lord that they may proclaim to a people yet to be born the justice he has shown.

Prayer for Tuesday of Holy Week

Prayer for Tuesday of Holy Week

The special prayer either before or after the Tuesday evening meal is a selection from Psalm 21, in which we see through the eyes of David the picture of Christ suffering for us on the Cross.
Psalm 21:13-22
Many bullocks surround me; the strong bulls of Basan encircle me. They open their mouths against me like ravening and roaring lions. I am like water poured out; all my bones are racked. My heart has become like wax melting away within my bosom. My throat is dried up like baked clay, my tongue cleaves to my jaws; to the dust of death you have brought me down. Indeed, many dogs surround me, a pack of evildoers closes in upon me; They have pierced my hands and my feet; I can count all my bones. They look on and gloat over me; they divide my garments among them, and for my vesture they cast lots. But you, O Lord, be not far from me; O my help, hasten to aid me. Rescue my soul from the sword, my loneliness from the grip of the dog. Save me from the lion's mouth; from the horns of the wild bulls, my wretched life.

Signs, signs

Remember those old stores in our town? Little by little they are kind of diminishing I took this photo at a Village called Huckleberry here in MI, where the county took all of the old buildings and put it in one village...like an old village. People go there to visit any time or season and see what is it all about to live in those era. Sounds interesting right?
